According to coach Myers: Matt is very competitive on the mound… he was very mature in his approach to practice every day…he should gain a lot of experience this spring.
In High School: Lettered four years for head coach Tony Phillips... he earned all-conference and all-district three times while grabbing all-state as a junior and senior, winning the conference title both seasons as well...played in the Missouri class 2A all-star game... he also played football, lettering three years and grabbing all-conference and all-district two times each.
Personal: Undecided on a major... born April 3, 1989 ... son of Andy and Brenda Curtis... uncle Roy Merriott pitched for the Mules in 1985.
