Walker, Vanloo named to D2Football.com All-America Team


      Central Missouri State University has placed two student-athletes on the 2004 D2Football.com All-America Team.Delanie Walker was named second-team as a return specialist, while Jason Vanloo was honorable mention as a linebacker.

A second-team All-Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association pick as both a wide receiver and kick returner, Walker is a native of Pomona, Calif. A junior at CMSU last fall, he led the Mules with 1321 all-purpose yards. Walker returned 18 kickoffs 530 yards (an average of 29.4 yards per return) and had touchdown returns of 90 and 94 yards to tie CMSU and MIAA records for TD returns in a season. He also had a team-best 48 receptions for 623 yards and four touchdowns and 21 carries for 168 yards and two scores.

Vanloo, a senior linebacker from Jefferson City, Mo., led the Mules and MIAA in tackles with 124 stops—the fifth-best single-season total in school history. He also had 8.5 tackles for losses, one interception, two pass breakups, three fumble recoveries, and two forced fumbles.

     The Mules finished the 2004 season with a record of 7-4, 5-4 and tied for fourth in the MIAA.
