Mules’ Grace, Ricketts named second-team All-Region by SIDs
Central Missouri State’s Darryl Grace and Kendall Ricketts each added another feather to his cap recently, as they were both named to the second-team Daktronics Division II All-Southwest Region Football Team. The Daktronics team is voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America. Daktronics, Inc. is an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing, and programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition.
Grace, a first-team All-MIAA pick from Captain Cook, Hawaii, anchored an offensive line that helped the Mules finish second in the league in scoring offense and total offense.
Ricketts came to CMSU from Raytown, Mo. and led the Mules in tackles with 96 and pass breakups with seven. The Mules’ starter at free safety, he also had an interception return for a touchdown. A first-team All-MIAA selection, he is third in the MIAA (tops among defensive backs) in tackles and fourth in fumble recoveries with two.
Grace and Ricketts also were second-team D2Football.com All-Southwest Region picks.
The Mules finished the 2005 campaign with a convincing 83-21 win over Pittsburg State University to go 7-3 on the year, 5-3 and fifth in the MIAA.
