Darryl Grace named All-American by
American Football Coaches Association
Central Missouri State University senior Darryl Grace received the ultimate honor for a football player recently, as he was named to the American Football Coaches Association Division II Coaches’ All-America Team.
Grace, a 6-foot-3, 308 pound offensive tackle from Captain Cook, Hawaii, was named first-team All-MIAA and second-team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District. He also earned second-team D2Football.com All-District and Daktronics All-Region honors after leading the Mules with an average high “A” grade of 75 percent in 2005.
This past season Grace totaled eight pancake blocks and 22 knock-down blocks while anchoring an offensive line that helped the Mules average 189.7 rushing yards, 229.8 passing yards, and 419.5 yards of total offense per game while racking up 40.0 points per game. Three times in 2005 the Mules scored at least 69 points, and twice went for 83.
Grace received a medical redshirt season in 2004 after suffering a season-ending knee injury in the first half of the second game of the year. He has been selected to play in the 2006 Cactus Bowl in Kingsville, Texas on January 6.
