Grace named Academic All-District

Central Missouri State Mules football offensive lineman Darryl Grace (Captain Cook, Hi.) was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District second-team on Wednesday for his accomplishments on the field and in the classroom.

Off the field, Grace maintains a 3.61 GPA as an aviation major at CMSU. One of the Mules’ team captains, the 6-foot-2, 308 pound offensive tackle was a first-team All-MIAA selection as named by the league’s coaches yesterday. He was a first-team All-MIAA pick and honorable mention All-American in 2003 before missing almost all of the 2004 campaign after suffering a serious knee injury. He came back this year to help CMSU average 189.7 rushing yards, 229.8 passing yards, and 419.5 yards of total offense per game while racking up 40.0 points per game. Three times in 2005 the Mules scored at least 69 points, and twice went for 83, once against Lincoln, and the other against then 11th ranked Pittsburg State. Grace led the Mules with an average high “A” grade of 75 percent in 2005 and totaled eight pancakes and 22 knock-down blocks.
