Mules place 12 on MIAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll
Twelve Central Missouri State University football players were honored for their efforts in the classroom recently, as they have been named to the MIAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll.
Named to the team this season are senior offensive lineman Ryan Barnes (business education major from Raymore, Mo.), sophomore offensive lineman Jon Books (physical education major from Williamsburg, Mo.), sophomore wide receiver Ivan Cason (journalism/political science major from Kansas City, Mo.), sophomore tight end Courtney Ford (education major from St. Louis, Mo.), sophomore punter/kicker Matt Frankel (accounting major from Overland Park, Kan.), senior offensive lineman Darryl Grace (aviation major from Captain Cook, Hawaii), sophomore fullback Nick Johnson (secondary education major from Kansas City, Mo.), sophomore safety Matt Landstra (computer information systems/business management major from O’Fallon, Mo.), sophomore linebacker Mike Lutz (construction management major from Lohman, Mo.), sophomore offensive lineman Matt Ochsner (business management major from Lohman, Mo.), sophomore tight end Cody Raithel (sophomore finance major from Jefferson City, Mo.), and senior linebacker Dan Stookey (graphic arts major from Columbia, Mo.).
To be named to the Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.00 or better at the qualifying institution, must have at least two terms of attendance at the member school (excluding summer sessions), and must be a sophomore, junior, or senior in athletic eligibility. Student-athletes who are inactive due to redshirt or hardship qualification are not eligible.
The Mules finished the 2005 campaign with a convincing 83-21 win over Pittsburg State University to go 7-3 on the year, 5-3 and fifth in the MIAA.
