Korrodi and Ricketts reap more awards for 2006 season
Senior quarterback Toby Korrodi and junior safety Kendall Ricketts keep piling in the awards today as they were both named Don Hansen’s Football Gazette All-Americans.
Korrodi, who was also a D2Football.com All-American, earned honorable mention honors after throwing for 2,797 yards and a school record 29 touchdowns to only five interceptions last season. He completed an outstanding 65 percent of his passes and finished his college career in the NCAA-II all-time ranks in touchdown passes (fifth with 112) and yards (eighth with 10,846). Korrodi will enter the NFL Draft this spring.
Ricketts, also a D2Football.com pick, led the Mules in tackles with 95 and interceptions with three this season. He earned MIAA player of the week and Don Hansen’s National Player of the week two times during the season. Ricketts ranks 7th in Central Missouri history with 268 career stops (first among DB’s) and is tied for 8th in interceptions with nine. His pick return for a touchdown against Fort Hays State was the fourth of his career, a UCM record.
