Mules take out Dakota State, 52-0

The 24th ranked Central Missouri State Mules went to 2-0 tonight and extended their shutout streak to two games with a 52-0 home-opening win over Dakota State Saturday night.
Senior quarterback Toby Korrodi played only one quarter but it was about as efficient as it gets, completing 10-of-10 passes for 170 yards and three touchdowns. Two of those connections were to senior wide receiver Mike Spiegel with tosses of 29 and 22 yards.
The Mules actually scored on their first four possessions of the game and led 28-0 at the end of the opening quarter. Jeremy Braden capped a five-play, 68 yard drive with a one-yard plunge for the first score of the game. Seth Mason scored his second touchdown of the year with a 15-yard pitch and run to close the quarter.
The Mules rolled up 17 more points in the second quarter thanks to a Spencer Webb field goal and touchdowns by Braden and tight end Ted Maxwell. Freshman quarterback Eric Czerniewski connected with Maxwell for his first ever collegiate passing touchdown from three yards out.
Central Missouri scored only once in the second half on a 46 yard punt return from Matt Jacobsen. The Mules held the Trojans to only 92 yards of offense while they piled up 418. Mike Dillon led the defense with seven tackles while Freddie McGowen made four with three for loss and a sack.
11 different Mules caught passes in the game as well. CMSU has outscored its opponents 120-0 in the last two games and have won four consecutive games dating back to last season.
