Mules Football Signs Eighteen Recruits for 1999 Season

Warrensburg, Mo. (Feb. 3, 1999) -- Head football coach Willie Fritz announced today that 18 student-athletes had signed letters of intent to attend Central Missouri State University and play football for the Mules. Fourteen of the signees are from the state of Missouri and 11 are from the greater Kansas City metropolitan area.

"We are very pleased with the caliber of student-athletes that have committed to Central Missouri," coach Fritz said. "We believe four or five of these young men may be able to contribute next season and this class will provide a sound base for Mules' football over the next four years."

The Mules were 8-3-0 last season and finished in third place in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA).
