Charles Lee Joins Mules Football Staff

Warrensburg, Mo. (Aug. 10, 1999) - Central Missouri State head football coach Willie Fritz has announced that Charles Lee is joining his coaching staff for the 1999 season. Lee will coach the defensive backs.

For the past two seasons Lee was an assistant football coach and offensive coordinator at St. Pius X High School in Kansas City, Mo., and helped guide St. Pius to the 2A state championship last fall. Prior to joining the staff at St. Pius, he was an assistant football coach and offensive coordinator at Liberty (Mo.) High School in 1996 and was an assistant football coach at Missouri Western State College in 1995.

The 27-year-old Lee played fullback in college at the University of Colorado. He made the team as a walk-on and was red-shirted in 1990, the year the Buffaloes' won a national championship and Big Eight conference championship. He received his bachelor's degree in history and political science in 1995 from Colorado.

Born in North Kansas City, Mo., Lee was a three-year football letterman at Rockhurst High School and was a member of the Hawklets' state championship team as a senior.
