Weatherington Named to Fourth All-America Team

Warrensburg, Mo. (Jan. 4, 2000) - Central Missouri State University defensive end Colston Weatherington has made it four-for-four in All-America selections. Football Gazette is the latest publication to name Weatherington on its first-team All-America squad for Division II, his fourth All-America honor of the 1999 season.

Previously, the 6' 5", 265-pound junior from Graceville, Fla., was a first-team selection on the American Football Coaches Association All-America Team, the Daktronics Division II All-America Team, which is selected by Division II sports information directors, and the Associated Press Little All-America Team. He is the first Mules' football player to earn first-team All-America honors on four different All-America squads in the same season.

On the Football Gazette team, Weatherington was joined by three of his CMSU teammates. Linebacker RheQuan Robinson and defensive back Lamont Truitt were third-team All-America selections and running back Jason Graham was an honorable-mention choice.

Weatherington, who also was the defensive MVP in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association this season, had 52 tackles and a team-leading 12 sacks this season for the Mules, who were 7-4-0. The 12 sacks matched the second-highest season total in Mules' history. This was Weatherington's first season at CMSU after he transferred from Northwest Mississippi Community College.

He currently is playing on the Mules' basketball team as a backup center.
