Five Mules named to D2Football.com All-Southwest Region teams


      Five members of the Central Missouri State University Mules football team have been named to the D2Football.com All-Southwest Region football teams.

Second-team honors went to junior quarterback Toby Korrodi, senior offensive tackle Darryl Grace, and sophomore free safety Kendall Ricketts. Junior defensive tackle Maurice White and senior kick returner Delanie Walker, meanwhile, were named to the third team.

Korrodi, a native of San Antonio, Texas, leads the MIAA in pass efficiency, having completed 74.5 percent of his passes for 2,066 yards and 23 touchdowns with just two interceptions. He was an honorable mention All-MIAA selection.

Grace, a first-team All-MIAA pick from Captain Cook, Hawaii, anchored an offensive line that helped the Mules finish second in the league in scoring offense and total offense.

Ricketts came to CMSU from Raytown, Mo. and led the Mules in tackles with 96 and pass breakups with seven. A first-team All-MIAA selection, he is third in the MIAA (tops among defensive backs) in tackles and fourth in fumble recoveries with two.

A native of Detroit, Mich., White is second in the MIAA eight sacks (0.89 per game) and leads the conference with 12 tackles for losses (1.33 pg). He was named second-team all-conference.

A first-team All-MIAA wide receiver, Walker is a native of Pomona, Calif. He averaged 25.6 yards per kickoff return with a touchdown and also returned three punts an average of 13.7 yards. As a wide receiver, Walker set a school record with 61 receptions for 726 yards and six touchdowns. He has also been chosen to play in the Las Vegas All-America Classic and in the Whataburger Cactus Bowl.

     The Mules finished the 2005 campaign with a convincing 83-21 win over Pittsburg State University to go 7-3 on the year, 5-3 and fifth in the MIAA.
