Jimmy Conner receives Wesley Drummond Scholarship

Senior wide receiver Jimmy Conner was honored as the 2004 recipient of the Wesley Drummond Memorial Scholarship.

The scholarship is presented annually in the event of a victory during the fourth week of the football season to the CMSU player who demonstrates overwhelming desire to succeed.

Wesley Drummond (1972-93) was a defensive back for the Mules from 1991-93.  A native of St. Louis, he was shot and killed during the 1993 season while home for a doctors appointment.  The following year the Mules established the Wesley Drummond Memorial Scholarship.

In the Mules' week four win over Missouri Southern (40-33 at Joplin on September 18) Conner had three receptions for 105 yards and two touchdowns (66 and 30 yards).  A native of Phoenix, Ari., he also returned two punts 33 yards and two kickoffs 47 yards.
