Troy Williams enters his first season with the Cardinal and Black after a four year playing career at Division II Albany State (Ga.).

While there, he helped the Golden Rams to four consecutive SIAC titles from 2003-06, playing linebacker. In 2003, they won the Pioneer Bowl, and in his final three seasons, they went to the NCAA Division II Playoffs under head coach Mike White.

A native of Fitzgerald, Ga., Williams was an award-winning athlete at Fitzgerald High School, garnering letters in football, basketball, and track and field. On the gridiron, he was a three-year starter at linebacker, earning all-state, all-region, and all-area honors.

Williams earned a degree in recreation in the fall of 2007, and then finished his second degree in health and physical education in the spring of 2008.
