Spring practice scheduled announced

The 2010 Spring practice schedule has been set. All dates are subject to change and coaches are recommended to contact the football office (660) 543-8021 in the morning to find out the status of that days practice.

Mules season over after loss at NWMSU

Tommy Corwin threw a touchdown pass in the final quarter for the Mules
Mules hopes for an NCAA-II postseason berth were smashed by MIAA champion Northwest Missouri State on Saturday afternoon in Maryville, Mo., with a 56-14 setback. The Mules scored the first touchdown of the game before the Bearcats rolled up 56 unanswered points.
Anthony Stewart highlighted the day for UCM with 116 all-purpose yards, and scored the first touchdown of the game.
The Mules, who came into the game needing a win to earn a playoff spot, will finish 6-3 in the league and 8-3 overall.

Mules are third in conference pre-season polls
MIAA football coaches have tabbed the Mules for third place in their annual pre-season poll. Conference media outlets agreed with the coaches placement of the Mules in their own pre-season poll.
The Mules compiled 59 points in the coaches poll and 321 points in the media poll, with one first-place vote.
Central Missouri finished in a tie for fourth in the MIAA last season with a 5-4 league mark and it returns several key players, including five starters on each side of the ball. Junior All-MIAA quarterback Eric Czerniewski and junior All-American tight end DeMarco Cosby lead the way, along with senior two-time All-MIAA free safety Randy Shepherd and All-MIAA senior wideout Bobby Guillory.
Northwest Missouri was picked to repeat as champions with 80 points in the coaches and 464 in the media, while Pittsburg State was selected second with 71 and 407 points, respectively. The Bearcats received 42 of 47 first-place votes in the media poll, while garnering eight of nine in the coaches poll

DeMarco Cosby tabbed pre-season All-American

Tight end DeMarco Cosby (pictured in action from 2008) has received pre-season recognition by being named a first-team All-American by Consensus Draft Services. All-American Team
Cosby, a junior from Kansas City, Mo., had 623 yards receiving and five touchdowns last season and set a school record for yards by a tight end in a season. He was also a first-team All-MIAA and first-team all-region selection.

Future Mule taking his turn during the annual Youth Clinic
Mules players took some time out of their preseason workout schedule to host the annual Youth Clinic on Monday, August 10th. Youngsters from across the area participated in the event.
