Coach Fritz on Matt Frankel: “Matt can be one of the top punters and
kickoff guys in the nation. He improved his consistency last season and
will have a big year in 2007.”

As a junior: Earned second-team All-MIAA honors for the second year
in a row after a 38.8 yards per punt average and 10 inside the 20
compared to only two touchbacks... also handled kickoff duties.

As a sophomore: Set a record with seven punts inside the 20 last season
against Adams State.. ranked second in the MIAA in punting average at
38.3 yards per kick... earned second-team All-MIAA honors for his
efforts... saw action in all 10 games.

As a freshman: Frankel saw limited action, appearing for a kickoff vs.
Washburn University ... also was a solid contributor for the Mules on the
scout teams.

In high school: Lettered all four years for head coach Jon Krug at
Shawnee Mission West High School ... earned first-team Kansas Class
6A all-state, all-metro, All-Johnson County, All-Sunflower League, and
All-Sun County ... also was selected to play in the Kansas-Missouri All-
Star game ... played in the Metro Challenge All-Star Football Game,
sponsored by the Greater Kansas City Football Coaches Association.

Personal: Accounting major ... born July 7, 1984 ... son of Carol and
Floyd Frankel... received a business scholarship for work in classroom.
