Media Relations Director

 

 

 

 

Rob McCutcheon is in his sixth year with the University of Central Missouri athletic department and his fourth as the Media Relations Director. He is in charge of all publications and releases as well as the statistics and staffing of all home athletic events. Interview requests and media credentials also go through McCutcheon.

He graduated from Missouri Southern State University in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications, and started toward his master’s degree in sports administration at UCM.

In January of 2006, McCutcheon was named to his current position after serving as the graduate assistant for media relations and marketing the previous year and a half. 

At Missouri Southern, he was a student assistant in the sports information office from 2000-01 before becoming the intern from 2002-04.

During his stint at MSSU, McCutcheon worked as the media relations director for the USA Baseball Tournament of Stars in June of 2003 where he helped coaches in the selection of the Junior National Team.

At 28, he has already written and edited several award winning publications including the top baseball media guide in the nation in 2006. He also earned the Grant Burger South Central Region SID of the year by the AVCA for his work with the sport of volleyball the last two seasons.

The Tulsa, Okla. native, now in his ninth year in the MIAA, also played collegiate soccer for four years (1999-02) at Missouri Southern.
