Mules golf wins third straight event
Justin Yoder
The University of Central Missouri golf team led throughout a rain-soaked two days at the Northeastern State Classic to win their third consecutive tournament to start the season with a 595 on Tuesday.
The two-round tournament was played at Emerald Falls Country Club in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and the Mules joined all seven other MIAA teams at the event. As a team the Mules finished 11 strokes ahead of their next closest competition, host NSU (606).
Senior Justin Yoder shot a 2-under 142 on the par 72 course, but lost medalist honors in a playoff to NSU’s Josh Boswell. Junior Matt Miller tied for fifth at 150, while classmate Zach VanDolah was knotted in seventh with a 151.
