Jojuana Jones (41) battles for one of her MIAA Tournament record 21 rebounds during action against Southwest Baptist
The Jennies saw their season come to an end at the hands of a hot shooting Southwest Baptist University squad in first-round action of the Women's MIAA Post-Season Tournament on Thursday evening, March 6th, at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City. The 89-80 setback put the finishing touch on the Jennies season with a 14-14 record. Lindsey Maple led four Jennies players in double figures with 20 points in her final appearance in a UCM uniform, while Jojuana Jones capped her Jennies career by establishing a new women's MIAA Tournament record with 21 rebounds, to go along with a 17 point performance. Jennies place three on All-MIAA Squad, Kara Fleming named Freshman of the Year

The Jennies had three players receive All-MIAA recognition by the conference coaches. Lindsey Maple was a second-team selection, with Kara Fleming receiving Freshman of the Year honors and named as an honorable mention choice, along with Jojuana Jones, who also was named to the All-Defensive Team. Jennies end home schedule in style with victory over Washburn

Kara Fleming drives to the basket against Washburn on Saturday at the UCM Multipurpose Building and helped lead the Jennies to a 68-59 victory. Fleming scored 15 points, pulled down six rebounds, and added six assists to help the Jennies snap a 14-game losing streak to the Lady Blues. Lindsey Maple, one of three seniors playing their final home game, led the Jennies with 16 points, including a nine for 10 performance from the free-throw line. Senior Jojuana Jones was the only other UCM player in double figures, finishing with 11 points. The victory sends the Jennies into the MIAA Post-Season Tournament in Kansas City on Thursday with a three-game winning streak, and victories in eight out of their last 10 games. Jennies Recap»
