Danielle Shows (pictured above) and the Jennies knocked off MIAA leader and fifth-ranked Emporia State on Wednesday evening at the UCM Multipurpose Building, 64-60.
The Jennies ended the Hornets 14-game winning streak and defeated their highest ranked opponent since a victory at #2 Washburn on January 3rd of 2009.
Jennies used an 8-0 start to the game to build early momentum, and then never trailed in the second half after a 29-29 halftime tie.
Becca Roberts led UCM with 16 points, while Shows netted 12 points, collected five rebounds, and tied a season-high with seven assists.
The victory improves the Jennies to 8-6 in league play and 12-9 overall. They will be idle from game competition until next Wednesday, Feb. 10th, traveling to Topeka, Kan., to take on Washburn at 5:30 p.m.
