Jennies pick up first win of
2007-2008 campaign

Melia Pence gave the Jennies 13 points off the bench
The Central Missouri Jennies basketball team evened their early season record at 1-1 with an 81-69 win over St. Mary’s (Texas) on day two of the Jennies Classic. UCM had four players in double figures and shot 54-percent from the field.
Deidra Dace led the Jennies attack with 21 points including 13-of-14 from the charity stripe. Lindsey Maple chipped in 17 points and Jojuana Jones and Melia Pence added 15 and 13 points, respectively.
The Jens trailed only once in the game, 3-2 at the 19:18 mark of the first half. UCM used a 13-4 run late in the first half to open a 33-18 lead. The halftime advantage was 37-24.
The two teams traded buckets early in the second half until the Jennies went on a 14-4 run to open a 23-point lead and all but ice the game. The Jennies shot a blistering 63-percent from the field in the second half and were aided by 17 free throws on 21 attempts – nine coming from Dace.
