Jennies fall at #4 Washburn

Lindsey Maple was the only Jennies player to score in double figures
The Central Missouri Jennies fell to 0-2 in MIAA play for the first time under Dave Slifer with a 68-47 setback to fourth-ranked Washburn on Saturday night in Topeka.
UCM (5-6, 0-2) fell into an early 8-0 hole and couldn’t recover. Washburn led by as many as 15 in the first half and went into the intermission with a 35-22 advantage. Kara Fleming led the way in the first half with six points and four rebounds.
The Jennies came out in the second half and quickly cut the lead to seven, but couldn’t get any closer. The Lady Blues went on an 8-2 run to open a 43-30 lead. UCM again cut the lead to single digits at 43-35, but Washburn closed the game on a 25-12 run and won by the 68-47 margin.
Lindsey Maple was the only Jennie in double figures, she finished with 18 points. Fleming finished with nine points and four steals and Jojuana Jones grabbed 10 rebounds.
