Jennies struggle in lopsided loss
to MSU-Mankato

Lindsey Maple led the Jennies with 17 points against MSU-Mankato
The Central Missouri Jennies basketball team struggled on both ends of the floor and fell to Minnesota State-Mankato 87-61 at the Doubletree Downtown Hotel Classic in Omaha, Neb. The Jennies (3-3) shot 34 percent compared to 56 percent by the Mavericks. The Jennies also committed 23 turnovers.
The two teams traded buckets in the early going with neither team leading by more than three. The Jennies took their only lead of the game at 12-11 with 13:04 to play in the half, but it was short lived as the Mavericks went on a 17-3 run to regain the lead at 28-15.
UCM battled back, cutting the lead to five at 30-25 on a Lindsey Maple three with just over four minutes remaining, but the Mavericks finished the half on a 7-0 run and went into the intermission with a 37-25 lead.
The Jennies cut the lead to eight early in the second half at 41-33, but Minnesota State responded with an 11-2 run to open a 17-point lead and all but ice the game. The Mavericks poured it on down the stretch increasing their lead to as much as 31.
Maple led the Jennies with 17 points, Deidra Dace added 10 points and eight rebounds.
