Coach Slifer on Jojuana Jones: “We’re looking for a consistent senior season from Jojuana. She had some big games at the end of last year and we will be counting on her to continue that play on a game-by-game basis this season.”
As a Junior: Played in 24 games . . . averaged 4.4 points and 4.4 rebounds . . . scored UCM career high 15 points at Washburn (Feb. 24) . . .grabbed 16 rebounds against Emporia State (March 2)
At Central Florida Community College: She averaged 9.3 points and 10.6 rebounds in 31 minutes as a forward last season for Central Florida Community College in Ocala, Fla . . . for her efforts she was selected Mid-Florida 1st Team All-Conference . . . played for head coach Cheryl Rice and helped the Lady Patriots to a runner up finish in the Mid-Florida Conference with a 20-10 mark and 9-3 in the conference . . . started her college career at the University of Miami (Fla.) averaging 2.4 points, 3.9 rebounds in 11.4 minutes per game.
In High School: Her senior year in high school she averaged nearly 15 points and 16 rebounds per game for Menchville High school where she was a McDonald's All-American nominee . . . Jones earned her second straight First Team All-Peninsula District honors in her senior year playing for coach Phil Forbes . . . she set the Menchville single game rebounding record with 26 . . . as a junior she was named to the All-Peninsula District First Team, All-Daily Press First Team, and All-Eastern Region second team.
