Coach Slifer on Lindsey Maple: “After an injury riddled junior campaign Lindsey is poised to have her best season ever. She’s going to be counted on to be more than just a scorer, but also a distributor.
As a Junior: Had another impressive season . . . led the Jennies in scoring, averaging 13.5 ppg and pulled down 3.3 rpg . . . Scored season high 26 points at Truman while tying a career high with eight field goals(Jan. 24) . . . set a career high and MIAA season high with 14 free throws against Northwest Missouri (Jan. 20) . . . scored in double figures 18 times and scored more than 20 points in four of those games . . . Earned Honorable Mention All-MIAA for her play on the court . . . She was also named to the MIAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll and Academic All-MIAA for her work in the classroom.
As a Sophomore: Followed up her impressive freshman season with an even better sophomore year, averaging 13.1 ppg and 3.7 rpg . . . scored a career high 28 points at Missouri Southern (Feb. 8) while connecting on a career high eight field goals . . . set a career high with nine boards at Northwest Missouri (Jan. 28) and in the same game made six three-pointers setting another career high and tying a Central Missouri record for most three point field goals in a half . . . played a career high in minutes with 42 against Truman (Jan. 4) . . . she scored in double figures 19 times and eclipsed the 20 point mark in six of those contests . . . Led the MIAA in freethrow shooting at 88 percent (103-of-117) and finished eighth in NCAA-II . . . Earned Second-Team All-MIAA accolades for her efforts on the court . . . She was also named to the MIAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll, Academic All-MIAA and the MIAA Presidential Scholar’s List for her work in the classroom.
As a Freshman: Had a solid freshman campaign, averaged 9.0 points and 2.2 boards per contest ... hit 37 threes and led the MIAA in free throw percentage at 81.5 percent ... was considered one of the best freshman players in the league.
In High School: Lettered all four years for head coach Brett Hieronymus at Knob Noster High School . . . added four letters in tennis and one in softball . . . earned all-state Class 3 honors as a junior and senior, all-district accolades three times, and all-conference kudos all four years . . . finished her career with 2,221 points, 681 rebounds, 301 assists, and 401 steals . . . as a senior averaged 25.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 4.8 steals per game to be named Warrensburg Daily Star Journal All-County Basketball Player of the Year, KMZU Dream Team Player of the Year, and Sedalia Democrat All-Area Basketball Player of the Year . . . appeared in the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game, and the Lion’s Club All-Star Game . . . also was named Academic All-Conference all four years.
Personal: Physical Education major with a 3.98 GPA . . . born August 3, 1985 . . . daughter of Douglas and Marlyne Maple ... father played basketball for the Mules.
