Mules basketball announced today that assistant coach Brad Loos has been promoted to Associate Head Men’s Basketball Coach. During his time at UCM, the Mules have a 128-54 overall record, three NCAA Tournament appearances, and two MIAA titles.

“Brad has done a tremendous job and has been an integral part of the success of our program over the past six years.” Head Coach Kim Anderson said. “He has been a tireless worker who has done an outstanding job in all phases of the program. Our players have benefitted greatly from his player development skills as witnessed by the fact that in the last three years we have had five players go on to play professionally. He has an excellent knowledge of the game and has recruited some of the top players in Division II to come to UCM.”

Loos begins his seventh season with the Mules.  He came to Central Missouri as a graduate assistant from Austin Peay State in Clarksville, Tenn. before earning the full-time position at UCM.

Loos has recruited numerous All-MIAA performers including an All-American performer in Michael Hicks.

In 2001, he served as a student assistant coach at Austin Peay after spending four years as a player for the Governors. Brad’s father, Dave Loos, is the head men’s basketball coach and athletic director at Austin Peay, an NCAA Division I member of the Ohio Valley Conference.

Loos was named to the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll four times as a player, and was the top basketball scholar athlete for three years.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from Austin Peay in May 2002 with a 3.8 grade-point average in Health and Human Performance.

He received a master’s degree from UCM in sports administration in August 2004. He was married in the summer of 2006 to Jennifer, who was formerly a graduate assistant soccer coach at UCM. The couple has a newborn son, Brady.
