Watts named D-II Bulletin All-American
Sanijay Watts is the third Mules honored under Kim Anderson
Central Missouri junior forward Sanijay Watts (St. Louis, Mo.) was named Division II Bulletin Honorable Mention All-American, becoming the third Mule named to that honor under head coach Kim Anderson’s tutelage (Michael Hicks and Zack Wright). He is the 10th All-American in school history.
Watts, who was also a first-team All-MIAA and All-Region selection, averaged a team high 15.5 points per game while leading the MIAA in field goal percentage at 55.5 percent. He scored 20 points or more in 11 games and led the team with 6.1 rebounds per outing as well.
Watts was named the NCAA South Central Regional Most Outstanding Player, and also earned Elite Eight All-Tournament Team honors. He was the only selection from a team not in the national title game.
Central Missouri went 30-5 and advanced to the NCAA-II Final Four for the second time in the last three seasons. It is only the second time in school history that UCM has won 30 games.
