Coach Anderson says: “Improved greatly last year to become one of our steadiest scorers. Has a reputation as an outstanding shooter, but can also play good defense and handle the basketball.”

As a Junior: A second-team All-MIAA performer... played every game, starting the last 25... led the Mules in scoring and three-pointers, while hitting a team-high 87.1 percent from the foul line and ranking second in steals... scored double figures in every game but four... Set a career-high with 18 points against Rockhurst (12/8/07)... set another career-high against No. 16 Pittsburg State with 19 points and hit a 75-foot three-pointer at the halftime buzzer to give Central Missouri the lead... tallied his next career-high against Emporia State (Jan. 19) with 20 points, hitting a three pointer with eight seconds left to tie the game and send to overtime... tallied a team season-high and career-high 30 points against Missouri Southern (Feb 20) to help UCM grab a big regional road win.

Before UCM: Helped KCC and head coach Clint Stout to a No. 15 national ranking and a 25-7 overall record… He was the Most Valuable Player of the Western Conference of the MJCAA last season while averaging 23.3 points per game… Young ranked fifth in the nation, hitting 86 percent of his free throws, and sixth in the nation in scoring… He also hit 40 percent of his three-point attempts to earn all-region honors… He played for head coach Mike McDonald
at NCAA Division I Canisius (N.Y.) College as a freshman where he started 15 games and averaged 11 points in those outings...attended Battle Creek Central High School where he won two letters two allconference selections... was a second-team all-state pick by the Detroit Free Press as a senior after averaging 24
points a game.
