Before UCM: Helped KCC and head coach Clint Stout to a number 15 national ranking and a 25-7 overall record… He was the Most Valuable Player of the Western Conference of the MJCAA last season while averaging 23.3 points per game… Young ranked fifth in the nation, hitting 86 percent of his free throws, and sixth in the nation in scoring… He also hit 40 percent of his three-point attempts last season to earn all-region honors… He played for head coach Mike McDonald at NCAA Division I Canisius (N.Y.) College as a freshman where he started 15 games and averaged 11 points in those outings... attended Battle Creek Central High School where he won two letters two all-conference selections... was a second-team all-state pick by the Detroit Free Press as a senior after averaging 24 points a game.
