In high school: A product of Ozark High School, Oakley played for head coach Steve Hunter… averaged 18.3 points and 9.1 rebounds per game as a senior... he garnered first-team all-conference honors in his final three seasons… a two-time all-state pick, he helped his team to a fourth place finish in Missouri and averaged 16.5 points and 10.1 boards per game as a junior… also earned first-team all-district and all-tournament team honors two years in a row at the Coffeyville and Kaminski Classic tournaments... … led the team with 49 blocks and hit an outstanding 59 percent from the field as a junior... the class five all-state pick was also a McDonald’s All-American Nominee... led the squad to one conference and two district titles and also was a member of the football squad... he earned first-team all-conference two times and second-team all-state once as a wide receiver for the two-time conference and district champion football team.
