Jennies secure spot in MIAA tournament
Liz Casey made two saves to record the shutout in goal for the Jennies
The Central Missouri Jennies soccer team secured a spot in the MIAA tournament with a 2-0 win over Northwest Missouri State on Friday night at the South Recreation Complex.
The Jennies (11-4-2, 9-3-1 MIAA) got on the board when Northwest Missouri scored an own goal in the 26th minute. Lindsay Hoerl added an insurance goal in the 66th minute when she found the back of the net for her fourth goal of the season. She was assisted by Hazel Cox. UCM out-shot NWMSU 7-4 for the game including 5-0 in the first half. Liz Casey made two saves in net for the Jennies and improved her record to 9-3-1 on the year.
