Jennies fall in shootout during round two
of the NCAA-II Central Regional
Kayla Jupp scored in the first half to give the Jennies an early lead
The Central Missouri Jennies soccer team saw their season come to an end with a tough shootout loss to Minnesota State on Sunday afternoon in Mankato, Minn. MSU won the 10-player shootout 7-6 after the game ended in a 1-1 tie.
Kayla Jupp gave the Jennies (13-4-4) the lead when she scored with less than a minute remaining in the first half. Kylee Schuhler was credited with an assist on the goal. The Jens held that lead until the 85th minute when the Mavericks answered with a goal of their own. Liz Casey made 11 saves in net for the Jennies, who were out-shot 28-6 for the game.
The game went to a shootout where UCM had a chance to win on the fifth penalty kick, but the Jennies missed forcing the extra kicks. The loss ends the Jennies season at 13-4-4.
