Hazel Cox had four of the Jennies shots in the match against MSSU
The Central Missouri Jennies soccer team lost a tough 2-0 game to Missouri Southern on Saturday night at the South Recreation Complex. The Jennies (9-3-2, 7-2-1 MIAA) have now lost two straight for the first time all season.
UCM out-shot Missouri Southern 5-1 in the first half, but the period ended in a 0-0 tie. MSSU took the lead in the 59th minute on a goal from Ashley Turner. The Lions got an insurance goal in the 84th minute off the foot of Nikki Llewellyn. The Jennies pressured the MSSU keeper late, but were unable to pick up a goal. The Jennies out-shot MSSU 13-7 for the game. Hazel Cox had four shots and one on goal for the Jens.
Liz Casey made two saves in net for the Jennies and saw her record dip to 7-2-1 on the year.
