The Central Missouri Jennies won their second straight MIAA soccer title this season and were rewarded with six players earning All-MIAA honors.

UCM also earned a share of all three major awards. Junior forward Melanie Hall was selected as the MIAA’s Most Valuable Player, MF Alyssa Rhodes shared the Freshman of the Year award with Nicola Cousins of Southwest Baptist and Lewis Theobald was named Coach of the Year for the second time in as many seasons.

Sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Bamvakais joined Hall and Rhodes on the All-MIAA First team. This is Hall’s third selection to the all-conference team and the first for Bamvakais and Rhodes.

The Jennies had three players earn second team honors. Seniors Randi Fernsler and Landri Schmitt as well as freshman Katie O’Keefe were all named to the All-MIAA second team as defenders. This was the third All-MIAA selection for Schmitt and the first for both Fernsler and O’Keefe. Fernsler was named to the Daktronics All-South Central Region First Team earlier in the week.

Hall was third in the league in points (26) and goals (13) and led the MIAA with seven game-winning goals. She tied the conference record for most consecutive games with a goal with seven. Rhodes helped anchor the UCM midfield, starting 16 games and scoring two goals. Bamvakais led the MIAA with a 0.55 goals against average and tied a school record with 12 shutouts.

Fernsler, O’Keefe and Schmitt combined for four goals, two game-winners, and three assists and anchored a defense that allowed just 12 goals all season and posted 12 shutouts.
