The faces tell the story after the Jennies season ends with a loss in the NCAA-II Regional
The Central Missouri Jennies fell to fifth-seeded Texas A&M-Commerce 2-0 in NCAA South Central Region action on Sunday at the South Recreation Complex. The top-seeded Jennies were making their third straight trip to the NCAA Tournament.
The Jennies (15-4-2) couldn’t find the back of the net as they were outshot 12-9 by the Lions. Only one of UCM’s shots was on goal. Hazel Cox and Alyssa Rhodes led the Jennies attack with three shots each.
Lauren Bamvakais made four saves in net and was helped out by her teammates when one Lion shot was blocked by the Jennie defender at the near post. A&M-Commerce opened the scoring in the 76th minute when Jordan McCarty scored off an assist from Melissa DoRemus. The Lions added some insurance with another goal five minutes later to make it 2-0. DoRemus scored the goal off an assist from Meagan Lasley.
The Jennies end their season with a school record 15 wins.
