Jennies drop opening match of 2009
The No. 14 ranked Central Missouri Jennies soccer team opened the 2009 campaign on the road with a tough 1-0 loss on Friday to Abilene Christian in Texas.
UCM outshot the Wildcats 8-5 but couldn’t find the back of the net. Melanie Hall recorded five of the Mules shots, four of which were on goal. Sharaya Sidebottom recorded two shots as Kelsie Hanson tallied the other.
Abilene Christian’s Julie Coppedge scored the lone goal of the game in the 67th minute to put the Wildcats on the board and to win the game.
Lauren Bamvakais had four saves in the game for the Jennies, and both teams ended the game with seven fouls a piece.
