The Central Missouri Jennies soccer team shutout their third opponent this season as they defeated Missouri Western on Saturday 1-0 at the UCM South Recreation Complex. UCM is still undefeated against the Griffons as the Jennies have won all nine games played between the programs.

Central Missouri improves to 5-4-2 overall and 4-2-1 in the MIAA. They are also 3-0 when they play at the friendly confines of the UCM South Recreation Complex.

After a scoreless first half with UCM up 5-2 in shots, the Jennies came out of halftime ready to take charge and record their fifth win of the season.

Cara Hennahane received a pass from Sharaya Sidebottom in the 49th minute and kicked the ball passed an outreached Griffon goalie for the game-winning shot. This was Hennahane’s first goal of the season and her fourth in a Jennies’ uniform.

The Jennies outshot the Griffons 11-5 in the game. Hennahane, Sidebottom and Angela Dobbie all recorded two shots, as Kelsie Hanson and Jessica Depew both had one. Melanie Hall led the way with three shots.

Lauren Bamvakais played the entire game in net for the Jennies, recording two saves.
