The Central Missouri Jennies soccer team lost a one goal lead as they were defeated 2-1 on Monday by Truman State on the road.
The Jennies (6-5-2, 5-3-1 MIAA) took a 1-0 lead into halftime, hoping to keep their momentum going for the last 45 minutes of play. UCM had an 8-4 advantage in shots after the first half of play.
Aaryn Burke took a pass from Melanie Hall in the 32nd minute of action for the Jennies to get on the board and hold a lead into halftime. This was Burke’s first collegiate goal as Hall collected her second assist of the season.
The Bulldogs (10-2-2, 9-1 MIAA) came out of halftime fighting to tie the game up. Truman took no time to get on the scoreboard as Katie Reuck received a pass from Megan Buri in the 50th minute for their first goal. About 15 minutes later, Katie Hinrichs took a pass from Buri for the second and game-winning goal for TSU.
Central Missouri outshot the Bulldogs 19-9 in the game. Hall took four shots, as Cara Hennahane and Burke both took three. Alyssa Rhodes, Lexie Bristow, Lindsay Hoerl and Katie Ruhmann all had two shots while Kelsie Hanson recorded one.
