Jennies settle for 1-1 tie
The Jennies soccer team tied 1-1 in double-overtime against West Texas A&M University at the Texas A&M-Commerce Tournament on Friday. Both UCM and West Texas A&M scored in the first half of play and were unable to break the tie.
UCM (0-2-1) went on the board first in the 17th minute of play as senior Kayla Jupp scored the Jennies first goal of the season. Melanie Hall and Kelsie Hanson were both credited with assists on the play.
The Lady Buffs (2-0-1) would come back to tie it up later in the 31st minute of the half on a shot by Reem Moussa to the top left of the goal. Adi Stein recorded the assist.
Central Missouri would outshoot their opponents for the third straight game, recording 19 shots to WTAMU’s eight.
Goalkeeper Lauren Bamvakais had five saves on the day, playing the entire game in net.
