Two Jennies Named to Academic All-District At-Large Team

Warrensburg, Mo. (Mar. 22, 2001) -- Two Central Missouri State University student-athletes have been named second-team selections on the Verizon Women's College Division Academic All-District At-Large Team for fall and winter sports. Representing the Jennies are cross country runner Rachel Harvey and soccer player Sabrina Sanders.

Harvey is a junior from Branson, Mo. She was the top runner on a Jennies' team that won its first NCAA regional title last fall and went on to place 14th at the NCAA Division II Championships. She was runner-up at the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Championships, placed third at the NCAA regional and earned All-America honors with a 16th-place finish at the national meet. She is majoring in biology with a 3.38 grade-point average.

Sanders is a senior from Lenexa, Kan. (St. Thomas Aquinas H.S.). She helped lead the Jennies to an 11-8-0 record last fall. She started all 19 matches, scoring four goals and producing one assist. She finished her four-year career ranked third among CMSU's all-time leaders in goals (19), assists (10) and total points (48). She is majoring in computer information systems with a 3.77 GPA.

The Verizon College Division Academic At-Large Team includes student-athletes on fall and winter teams other than football, basketball and women's volleyball.
