Jennies place three on All-MIAA soccer team


(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) - The Central Missouri State University Jennies placed three individuals on the 2003 All-Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Soccer Team this season.

Senior forward Teleshia Joseph, junior midfielder Brittany DeVantier, and freshman defender Mallory Milburn.

Joseph, a native of Claxton, Trinidad & Tobago, led the Jennies with eight goals and five assists on the season. That effort boosted her career totals to 37 goals, 18 assists, and 96 points. The daughter of Hinford and Mearlyn Joseph, her goals and points totals are new MIAA records (she shares the goals mark with teammate April Reyes, who missed this season with a knee injury.

DeVantier knocked in three goals and doled out five assists. The daughter of Bruce and Karen DeVantier of Murphysboro, Ill., she now has six goals and 10 assists for her career.

Milburn is a native of Olathe, Kan. and the daughter of Ken and Melinda Milburn. She started all 18 games she played for the Jennies and took five shots on the year, two on goal.

The Jennies, in their first season under new head coach Geoff VanDeusen, went 7-11-1 on the year, 6-6-1 in the MIAA.
