Jennies' Soccer Team Makes First Home Appearance This Week

Warrensburg, Mo. (Sept. 13, 1999) -- After opening its season with five straight road matches, Central Missouri State University's women's soccer team makes its home debut Wednesday (Sept. 15) with a Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association contest against Southwest Baptist University. Match time is 4 p.m. at CMSU's Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field. Coach Al Iantorno's Jennies also play a key regional match at home on Saturday (Sept. 18) at noon against Winona State University.

CMSU takes a 3-2 record into Wednesday's game against an SBU team that is 0-3-1. This will be the Jennies' second MIAA game of the season. They opened the campaign with a 5-0 road win at Missouri Southern State College on Aug. 30. SBU is 0-1 in the MIAA, losing 11-0 to the University of Missouri-Rolla.

This week's Central Region rankings by the National Soccer Coaches Association has the Jennies rated ninth and Winona State ranked 10th. After losing over the weekend to the University of Indianapolis and Minnesota State University-Mankato, Winona State will bring a 3-2 record into Saturday's game.

Juniors Molly McCain and Sabrina Sanders are the Jennies' scoring leaders through the first five games, as each has scored three goals. The Jennies have outscored their opponents 11-5.
