Jennies fall to Truman State, 1-0

               The Jennies soccer team dropped a hard fought match to Truman, 1-0 on Friday evening in Warrensburg.
            Central Missouri (8-3-1, 3-3-1 MIAA), ranked third in the Central Region, and TSU (9-2-2, 4-1-2 MIAA), ranked fourth in the region, went back and forth most of the evening with both teams having great opportunities to score. The Bulldogs scored the lone goal of the game in the 62nd minute on a crossed ball that hit the underside of the crossbar and bounced in. The Jens had a couple of great scoring chances to tie the game but were unable to deliver the equalizer.
            In the first half the game was primarily played in the midfield with each team having great scoring opportunities. Hazel Cox had a chance to put UCM on the board in the 39th minute when she riffled a shot that the keeper knocked over the top of the goal. On the ensuing corner kick Angela Dobbie got loose in the box and went up for a header that just went over the top of the goal. Truman held a slim advantage in shots in the first period, 7-5, putting two on net compared to the Jens one.
            For the game the Bulldogs out shot the hosts 18-15, and a 9-5 advantage in shots on goal while the Jennies held the advantage in corner kicks 9-3.
