The Central Missouri State Jennies soccer team found they could play with the top teams in the region this weekend, but unfortunately, they came up on the short end of a couple late 2-1 losses. 2004 national semifinalist Nebraska-Omaha nipped the Jennies (3-2) in the final three minutes while Minnesota State-Mankato took advantage of a tired CMSU squad by knocking in a game-winner in the 79th minute.

In the opening match, Nebraska-Omaha took the lead in the 72nd minute but the Jens showed heart as Landri Schmitt (Olathe, Kan.) knocked in the equalizer in the 84th minute. Just before the end of regulation though, UNO forward Brandie Beale finished the game winner.

Against Minnesota State-Mankato, The Jens got behind again in the second half but rallied to tie the game just over four minutes later in the 56th minute off another goal from Schmitt. Hazel Cox (Olathe, Kan.) earned the assist after beating a defender and slotting it across to Schmitt for the one touch finish. The Mavericks earned the win in late fashion as Kelly Jauch put in a late rebound.
