Jennies place 11 on MIAA Academic Honor Roll
Jennies knocked out of NCAA-II Regional
The Jennies dropped a pair of games at the NCAA-II North Central Regional in Emporia, Kan., making it a quick trip to the 2008 post-season tournament.
The Jennies fell 2-1 to Winona State in opening round play, slipping into the losers bracket where they faced conference rival Northwest Missouri State on Thursday night. UCM failed to score in the 11 inning affair and was eliminated with a 1-0 setback. Jennies fall short at MIAA Championship
Jennies saw their run at the 2008 MIAA Championship Tournament in Shawnee, Kan., come to an end LAST Saturday with 4-0 extra inning loss to Emporia State in the championship round.
The Jennies, who had won four straight games in the losers bracket to advance into Saturday's final, could muster only one hit in the championship game and saw ESU score four runs in the top of the 14th. Jennies Recap »
Leonard a First-Team Selection on All-MIAA Squad
Megan Leonard is the only first-team All-MIAA representative from the Jennies, who finished second in the regular season league race.
The Jennies had a total of seven players receive All-Conference recognition in voting by the league coaches. In addition to the first-team selection of Leonard, the Jennies had one second-team All-MIAA pick in Tarese Ely-Myers. The Jennies had five honorable mention selections in Kristal Holland, Kherri-Dean Hummer, Marisha Branson, Tracy Anderson, and Melissa Palmer.
