The Central Missouri Jennies softball team and head coach Susan Anderson have added three players for the 2009 season. Anderson has signed two prep standouts and one junior college transfer.

Joining the Jennies for the 2009 season will be, Krista Cummings of Liberty, Mo., Chelsey Patton of Bonner Springs, Kan. and Nicole Norberg of St. Louis, Mo.

Krista Cummings

Cummings is a 5-7 infielder who plays primarily first and third. The daughter of Larry and Joyce Cummings is currently attending Johnson County Community College where she was a NJCAA All-American, NFCA All-American and first team all-region. She set a JCCC record with 17 home runs last season.

“Krista is a quality player that has earned several honors and we are very excited to have her as a Jennie. We know she will make an immediate impact in our program. She is a solid defender and a true threat at the plate which you can see by the big numbers she has put up at JCCC” said Coach Anderson.

Chelsey Patton

Patton is currently attending Basehor-Linwood High School where she plays second base. She was First-team All-Kaw Valley for the league champions last season when she led the team with a .433 batting average. She earned second-team all-conference honors as a sophomore and was first-team all-conference and second-team all-state as a freshman. She also made honorable mention all-conference the past two seasons in volleyball.

“Chelsey is a great addition to our team. She is a utility player that can play in the dirt or in the outfield. We feel fortunate to have her as a Jennie. She has proven that she can hit for a high average and we look forward to having her for the next four years.”

Nicole Norberg

The daughter of Jim and Nancy Norberg, Nicole is currently attending Oakville High School. Norberg was honorable mention all-conference as a sophomore, second team as a junior and first-team as a senior playing first base. She intends to major in secondary education at UCM.

“Nicole is a tall, strong, and smart player. She is a team player that has had a lot of success in her prep career and in summer ball. We look forward to watching her grow as a player in our softball program.”
