The Central Missouri Jennies continued to roll with a doubleheader sweep of Southwest Baptist on Tuesday at Jennies Field. The Jennies won 6-0 and 7-3 for their third and fourth consecutive wins and their 21st win in their last 24 games.

UCM (28-14, 10-2 MIAA) scored all they would need in the second inning when Kherri-Dean Hummer smacked her eighth home run of the season to make it 1-0. The Jennies added another run in the second on a Kelli Kurka bunt single. The Jennies tacked on two more runs in the fifth when Tarese Ely-Myers belted her team-leading ninth home run of the season. Marisha Branson added a two-run single in the sixth for the 6-0 final.

Megan Leonard (15-4) was solid in the circle for the Jens. She tossed a complete-game four-hitter with 10 strikeouts. Leonard was named MIAA Pitcher of the Week for the fourth consecutive week prior to the game.

The Jennies staked themselves to an early 2-0 lead in game two with single runs in both the first in second innings. Tracey Anderson singled to left and scored on a triple by Ely-Myers in the first. The Jennies scored another run in the second thanks to an error and two wild pitches.

SBU took a 3-2 lead in the third when Taressa Gomez smacked a three-run home run to left center. UCM responded with three runs in the fourth to regain the lead for good at 5-3. Whitney Sandberg had an RBI-single and later scored on a triple by Abby Dickson and Dickson later scored on a wild pitch for UCM.

The Jennies tacked on two more runs in the fifth. Hummer had an RBI single and Crystal Gustin drove in another run for the 7-3 final.

Kristal Holland (10-6) picked up the win for UCM. She allowed three runs on two hits in six innings of work, while striking out five.
