Coach Anderson on Kelli Kurka: “Kurk has continued to gain confidence behind the plate. I’ve seen a lot of improvement from last year to now. She’s going to be our go-to catcher the first month of the season.”
As a Freshman: Batted .214 with five home runs and 15 RBI in 42 games played...started 32 of the 42 games.
In High School: Was a four-time all-conference and all-district selection at Sullivan high school ... named to the all-region squad three times and was a two-time first team all-state selection and three time all-state honoree ... named Player of the year her senior season ... won three conference and four district championships ... also lettered in basketball and track.
Personal: Kurka is majoring in Physical Education...she was born March 18, 1989... she is the daughter Stan and Debbie Kurka...her mother Deb (Mann) Kurka is being inducted into the UCM Athletics Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2009.
