Coach Anderson on Katie Bauer: “Her versatility will help us throughout the season as she could see time at either corner position. She’s done a better job on being vocal on the infield. If she continues to step up that will benefit our entire team.

As a Junior: Started 52 games ... hit .253 with 21 RBI ... had a .941 fielding percentage.

As a Sophomore: Appeared in 45 games, starting 39 mostly in left field ... committed only two errors last season while playing four different positions. Named to Commissioner’s Academics Honor Roll for her work in the classroom.

As a Freshman: Appeared in 33 games, starting 27 mostly at shortstop. Led all freshman in batting with a .232 average.

In High School: Lettered four years for Notre Dame High School earning all-district and all-conference honors in her junior and senior seasons while being named all-metro in 2003 ... helped her team to a third place finish in the state as a freshman ... also lettered one season in basketball.

Personal: Accounting major with a 3.02 grade-point average … born January 28, 1986 … daughter of Joe and Becky Bauer.
