Raithel takes national title; UCM has six All-Americans

Senior Dan Raithel capped six UCM All-American performances at the NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships with a national title in the hammer throw this weekend in Walnut, Calif.
His throw of 219-08 was tops while teammate Jaban Moore took seventh in the event with a toss of 186-10. The Central Missouri 4x100 relay team of Dannon Abney, Damond Berry, Eric Moore, and Chris Leverette grabbed seventh place with a time of 40.52. Freshman Drew Frizzell rounded out the Mules All-Americans with an eighth place mark in the shot put (54-08). As a team the Mules took 14th in the nation.
The Jennies got All-American performances from junior Anne Carlson in the heptathlon (4632). Freshman Kayla Muyskens was the Jens only other All-American, finishing sixth in the discus with a toss of 147-11. The Jennies placed 36th as a team at the national meet.
