Mules claim third straight men's title, Jennies three-year reign as women's champ snapped
The Mules claimed their third consecutive men's outdoor championship, and their seventh in the last eight years, as they outdistance the field at the 2008 MIAA Outdoor Championships over the weekend on the campus of Northwest Missouri State in Maryville. The Jennies three-year hold on the women's outdoor title ended however, as they finished second to Missouri Southern. Mules and Jennies will have student-athletes compete at the Emporia State Twilight Qualifier on Saturday, in a final effort to qualify for the NCAA-II Championships scheduled for May 22-24 in Walnut, California.

UCM picked up a total of three All-American finishes at the NCAA-II Indoor Championships in Mankato, Minn., as Haley Morrissey tied for 8th place in the Women's High Jump on Saturday, with Dan Raithel and Drew Frizzell finishing 4th & 5th in the Men's Weight Throw event on Friday. Mules First / Jennies Third at MIAA Indoor Championships
Mules capture the men's title at the MIAA Indoor Championships in Joplin, Missouri. The Mules recorded five first-place performances, and used depth in key events, to total 120 points and top the men's field by 24 points.
Kyle Brown (800 Meter run), Dannon Abney (600 Yard Run), and Kai Roper (400 Meter Dash), were double winners for the Mules as they were also members of the championship 4 x 400 Meter Relay Team (Britt Johnson was the other team member). Dan Raithel (Weight Throw) and Jaban Moore (Shot Put) were also first-place winners for the Mules.
The Jennies had only one first-place finisher in the women's event, and finished in third place with 78 points.
Chelsea Luck was the lone champion for the Jennies with a first-place performance in the 60 Meter Hurdles.

Mules tied for 10th place at the 2007 NCAA-II Outdoor Championships in Charlotte, North Carolina, as competition came to an end on Saturday. UCM had a total of six All-American finishes in the three-day event. In addition to the runner-up finishes posted by Dan Raithel and the 4x400 meter relay team, Kyle Brown finished 6th in the 800 Meter Run and the Mules 4x100 Meter Relay Team placed 7th. All-American performances were also posted by the Jennies' Cody Varner (5th) and Anne Carlson (7th) in the Heptathlon. Varner and Carlson provided the Jennies with all of their points in the women's competition.
